We were told that Power restoration will be between 8:00 to 8:30 pm.

- Check your hardwired smoke detectors for proper operation during power outages. Unless equipped with a working battery they will not alert you to a fire hazard

- Ensure flashlights and other battery operated light sources are in proper working order. Avoid using candles or other open flame lighting devices

- Gas and charcoal grills/BBQ are for outside use only. Please do not use inside in place of oven/range.

- Fixed and portable generators must be kept outside with exhaust discharges away from the home to avoid CO poisoning

- Do not plug generators into your home’s electric. Only plug appliances into the generator.

- Store fuel (gasoline, propane, kerosene) outside and away from living spaces

- When using portable space heaters keep 3ft of space between it and other objects and furnishings. Follow manufactures guidelines. Use only indoor approved models.

- Never use your oven to heat your home.

- Monitor fireplace (if using for heat).

- Ensure large electronics are unplugged or turned off at breaker box to prevent sparking or a fire when power is restored (oven, microwave, toaster, etc).

- Home phones will not work. Ensure cellular telephones are charged or have spare battery packs to provide charge until power is restored.

- Avoid frequent opening and closing of refrigerator or deep freezer as they are made to keep for some time when the power goes out.
